Fence & Deck Project Process

From the first phone call or online inquiry to the time your project is complete, at Tri County Fence & Decks, we strive to make every interaction a positive one. So you know what to expect, we’ve put together a Project Process outline below.

The Quote Process

Step 1 – Call, email, or complete an online inquiry to get an estimate

Step 2 – Our office will follow up with you to get project details such as location, what type of project you’re looking to have quoted, timeline, and type of materials you’d like quoted, if known, and then schedule an estimator to meet with you.

Step 3 – An estimator will meet with you and discuss your ideas and needs. At this time, measurements are taken so that an accurate estimate can be done.

Step 4 – Your estimator will work up a quote based on the current pricing of materials and email you the quote. Note that pricing can only be held for 15 days due to frequent changes in material costs.

Step 5 – The estimator will email your quote and follow up to answer any questions you might have.

Step 6 – If you would like to move forward, a contract will be sent to you for signing.

The Installation Process

Step 1 – Once your contract has been signed and the deposit is received, our team gets to work ordering materials and drawing up plans.

Step 2 – When required, our team applies for permits in your county or town.

Step 3 – Once it is known when materials will arrive and when we can expect permit approval, our team gets your job onto our schedule, contacts Miss Utility to mark your property for power, gas, and communications, and notifies you of our target installation date. Note that because our work is done outdoors, weather may alter schedules.

Step 4 – We install your new fence or deck! We ask that you be there when the crew begins to review the project. You generally do not have to stay on site during installation, however we recommend that if you are not, that you’re available by phone should we have any questions or concerns. Changes after the fence is installed will incur additional costs.

Step 5 – Enjoy your new fence or deck for years to come!

What is the timeline for the project?
Your installation time varies depending on the time of year, availability of products, and weather. During the spring and summer months, lead times will be a bit longer than during fall and winter. During your initial consultation, your sales person will be able to give you an approximate installation target date.
How should I budget for my project?
Many factors determine the price for you project including size (square feet), complexity, and materials. When you meet with an estimator, you have the opportunity to discuss your goals and your budget. Tri County will then work to develop a solution for all of your needs.
Where do I start?
If you have a good idea of what you want, begin by sketching out what you have in mind. You don’t need to be an artist or an architect – a simple sketch will get us started.
