If the dog days of summer brought us actual dogs, we’d be OK with that…but instead, it brings us mosquitoes! Pesky little blood-sucking monsters that can ruin an otherwise fun-filled day outdoors.
Here at Tri County Fence & Decks, we’re huge fans of spending time outdoors in our own backyards. And this summer, we’re doing quite a bit of it! But we are not fans of mosquito bites. Fortunately, we found a great list of mosquito hating plants from HGTV. To ward off these little buggers, try planting:
- Bee Balm
- Variegated Plectranthus
- Scented Geranium
- Mint (careful, though – mint can take over, so planting in pots is recommended!)
Click the list linked below to see the plants mosquitoes hate, why they hate them, and the best ways to use them.
Any of these plants would look great sitting in pretty planters on your deck, or planted in the gardens in your backyard. We are partial to lavender, but they are all beautiful!
